Formula and assumptions

Daily farm kWh = Σ(unit watts × count) × (1 + overhead / 100) ÷ 1,000 × 24 × uptime. Cost = kWh × tariff.

Overhead is proportional to ASIC running power and follows the common uptime. It does not model an always-on base load. Replace the illustrative allowance with facility measurements.

Worked example

100 units at 3,500 W with 10% facility overhead consume 9,240 kWh/day at full uptime. At $0.08/kWh the daily electricity budget is $739.20.

Arithmetic examples explain the tool; they are not live market observations. Reference specifications are linked on ASIC pages.

Frequently asked questions

Does overhead increase hashrate?

No. Auxiliary power consumes energy without adding hashing work.

Does this include fixed charges?

No. Use the full farm calculator for hosting and capital costs.
